Lady stole memory card from me, not condom – Ycee speaks on ‘Omo Alhaji’
Nigerian rapper and songwriter, Oludemilade Martin Alejo, popularly known by his stage name Ycee, has cleared some sort of misconceptions on his ‘Omo Alhaji’ music video.
I called it misconceptions because even the singer was amused at how fans, especially Nigerians concluded on the ‘condom’ incident.
The Tinny Entertainment front man, during his recent visit to the UK, had a chat with the legendary Tim Westwood.
He talked about the success of his single ‘Omo Alhaji’, saying the lady in the video stole a memory card from his breast pocket and not a condom as perceived or made believe. Lol.
The 24-year-old also dropped some ‘still better than others’ freestyle bars a usual on the Westwood crib session.
He chipped in on his new music, the Lagos scene, the success of his single ‘Omo Alhaji’ and more.
Speaking on his single, ‘Omo Alhaji’, he said “People did not really listen to the single but when we released the video, everything just changed and ‘Omo Alhaji’ was almost bigger than the previous single.
“The concept of the video was ‘we were at a party and there were Dubai guys. We got girls who would like distract them so they could hook up with one of the girls.
“So, she steals something from me…a lot of people are asking what she actually stole from me.
“According to the director, it was supposed to be like a memory card but in the video, it looked like a condom,” Ycee quipped.
“For the record, it was a memory card.
“In the video when she took it out from my pocket, she held it up…” he noted as he continuously jested.
He spoke further on his song ‘Link Up’ which he said would be out in less than a month.
This dude’s got so much packed in one slim body. Lol.
