Asking church members to pay tithes, offerings to be blessed is fraud – Nigerian Pastor, Abel Damina blasts [VIDEO]

A Nigerian Pastor, Dr. Abel Damina of the Power City International Church, has condemned the practice at which people (churchgoers) are asked to give, especially paying of tithes in churches these days. He reacted to the ongoing trend of pastors asking members to sow for blessings, in a video which has since gone viral on social media. Nigerian Pastor, Abel Damina blasts.

Although Pastor Damina did not mention any name, it is believed he was possibly reacting to a viral video of Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, who told his congregants to sow N1000 or $1000 for every year they have lived.

Nigerian Pastor, Abel Damina blasts

In a series of teachings uploaded on social media by comedian Ali Baba, the clergyman particularly mentioned that giving is not done to be blessed but out of blessing and not for the returns of it.

He further established that an act of encouraging church members to give for multiplying effects from God is a fraud and an insult to the works of redemption and grace.

In the video clip, Pastor Damina said, “He (Jesus Christ) did not supply you grace, expecting anything in return; so when a man of God says ‘give money to be blessed’, it is an insult to the work of redemption. Psalm 91 – 91 dollars for 91 blessings is an insult on the work of grace, it is fraud.

“If you could give 91 dollars and that would appease the work of God, then Jesus wouldn’t die. There is nothing mankind is capable of…”
