Ace Nigerian rapper born Babatunde Olusegun Adewale, popularly known as Modenine has come after American rapper, Jay Z for ‘using’ his 2008 song for his latest 4.44 album. The 42-year-old English-born Nigerian rapper made this known in an Instagram post. Modenine played his track, “My Skin is Black”, from the album “Paradigm Shift” album alongside Jay Z’s “Story of OJ”. Did Jay Z steal Modenine’s track for 4.44 album?.
Although he did not particularly accuse Jay Z of theft, he bragged that he was ‘ahead of the game’ even as he highlighted the similarities between his song and Jay Z’s song, saying, “Jay Z, common men, admit it”.

Recall that the iconic rapper dropped My Skin is Black in 2008. Meanwhile, his alleged theft claim has caused an outrage among his fans and followers owing to the fact that both Modenine and Jay Z sampled Nina Simone’s song, Four Women, for their projects. In the course of the controversies among his fans, some fans agreed with Modenine, whereas, others insisted that the only similarity between both songs is the Nina Simone sample. Some also hinted that their personal lyrics are not same as the duo independently talked about different things.

Enobong Ukut @tha6ft1god: “So apparently Jay Z life of Oj is similar to @Modenine My skin is black off the paradigm shift 2008. Same sample…”
izzo_hova: “Googled Nina Simone…. It’s a sample of her song which you used in 2008(maybe without permission) and Jigga also sampled it too. M.I sampled a Nina Simone’s song in his Illegal Music Mixtape. Kanye and Jay-Z sampled the same song on a track called New day in the ‘Watch the throne’ album. It’s all Hip-Hop… We still love you. I got 3 or 4 of your albums on my laptop. BLESS!!!”
