Like Mavin First lady, Tiwa Savage, sensational singer, Omawumi Megbele, just got herself a deal with American hip hop and rapper, Jay Z’s Roc Nation label. The Nigerian songwriter and actress made the development known on her Instagram page after she shared the artwork for her new album titled, ‘TIMELESS’ with the Roc Nation logo, placed on top of the artwork. Omawumi signs deal with Jay Z’s Roc Nation.
In her announcement, the Globacom ambassador also included her album release date. Omawumi’s ‘Timeless’ will be released on June 22nd. Wow. A big congratulations to her.

Born Omawumi Megbele, known by her stage name Omawumi, the ‘If You Ask Me’ crooner is of Itsekiri ethnicity. She is a brand ambassador for Globacom, Konga.com, and Malta Guinness and also part of the campaign called “Rise with the Energy of Africa”.

The 35-year-old gained attention as the 2007 runner-up on West African Idols, a reality TV show part of the Idols franchise and since then, she has had numerous performances on the stage with musicians such as P-Square, 2face Idibia, D’Banj, Banky W, M.I, Sasha, 9ice, Chaka Demus and Pliers, Carl Thomas, Angie Stone and Donell Jones, Angelique Kidjo , among others. Her sophomore album, The Lasso of Truth, was reported to be a commercial success in Nigeria.

Recall that on her part, Tiwa Savage got everyone talking as dumped Don Jazzy’s for Jay Z’s Roc Nation label. The US rap mogul, Jay Z, was impressed by Tiwa’s catalogue and profile, and sanctioned the signing on May 24, 2016. It was put together by Roc Nation’s Briant Biggs and Shawn Pecas.
