
Popular Nigerian singer, Ayo balogun popularly known by his stage name Wizkid, has slammed the Nigerian government over the ban on some of his colleague’s songs. Wizkid says ‘Nigerian Government is a joke’.
Wizkid took to his Twitter handle to express his feelings about Nigerian Government. In a series of tweets, Wizkid aka Star Boy claimed that the Nigerian government is a joke and what he read about them irritate him so much.

Although Wizkid did not specify, his response may not be unconnected to the ban by the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, on 5 songs by three of his colleagues in the industry – Olamide‘s “Wo” and “Wavy Level“; Davido‘s “Fall” and “If (Remix)“; and 9ice’s “Living Things.”
The corporation on Tuesday, hinted that the songs have been banned from being aired across the Nigerian airwaves.

The ban came after Federal Ministry of Health led by honourable Minister, Isaac Adewole said Olamide’s new street anthem ‘WO’ is in violation of Tobacco Control Act 2015. According to the Ministry, Olamide’s latest song, which is the latest Nigerian hit song, shot in Bariga, is a danger to the public as it promotes a dangerous habit that encourages second-hand smoking. The risks from this include cancers, respiratory & cardiovascular diseases
The YBNL boss had however, responded to the outrage, saying he had no intention of promoting tobacco to get people killed with his music.

Meanwhile, less than a month ago, the Federal Government decried the situation whereby films, reality TV shows and music videos are shot outside Nigeria for consumption by Nigerians, hence, all of that has got to stop.
