A CCTV footage from the a broad daylight armed robbery attack at a Zenith Bank branch in Owerri, Imo State capital, has emerged online. The four-man robbery syndicate on February 22, 2017, stormed and attacked the bank located at Wetheral road in the state capital. CCTV footage of daylight robbery at Zenith Bank Owerri surfaces.
The CCTV captured the suspected robbers’ ringleader identified as Justice Ogbonna, aka, JJ, and his gang as they arrived the bank on the said day in February. They had trailed a bank customer to the bank.

On arrival, as seen in the video obtained by Laila’s blog, they were seen shooting indiscriminately as they stormed the bank, attacked the customer and carted away the money which the victim wanted to deposit in the bank.
The security guard opened the gate and the armed robbers drove in but stopped their car right in front of the entrance when they dispersed from the vehicle and started shooting sporadically. The security guard took off but thankfully, there was a brave MOPOL officer in mufti, attached to the bank who was at a small corner in the security outlet. He shot dead one of the armed robbers whom the rest abandoned as they made their getaway after the robbery.

Reports say the attack left three policemen and five bank customers injured and one of the armed robbers dead. One customer was also reportedly shot dead.
The Nigeria Police Force has since arrested the robbers and after six weeks of investigation, the ringleader – Justice Ogbenna, aka JJ, and getaway driver, Okechukwu Onwuamaegbu, were arrested in Aba, Abia State capital by operatives of the Imo State Police Command during activities marking to mark JJ’s father’s burial.
