
A Muslim woman from Somalia, Muhammed Haleema, has revealed why it is advisable to chose a polygamous marriage instead. She hinted she prefers to marry into a polygamous home as there are no responsibilities in the marriage. Haleema, who was once married to a man with three wives explained that all the wives had a good relationship with each other and helped each other out at all times. In a recent interview, Haleema said the hardest thing about a polygamous marriage is that you always had to wait for your turn but expressed joy in the fact that she had less to do at home because they were more.

She said: “The hardest thing, I would say is sitting on the table and just waiting your turn. So he (her ex-husband) will be here one night and there one night and there one night. One of the wives was a very good friend of mine, if she goes on holiday she would leave the kids with me and if I go on holiday, I would leave my kids with her.”

Although the marriage is over, Haleem says she would like to marry into a polygamous home again.
According to her, “I would only go for a polygamous marriage.”
It is no news that the practice of polygamy is a mathematical contradiction of the principle that men and women are to be treated equally. Therefore, the Quran’s allowance of multiple wives is somewhat of a challenge to the contemporary apologist, who wants his Western audience to believe that Islam encourages gender equality.
