2019 election: Atiku speaks on reconciling with Obasanjo

In pursuit of his ambition of becoming President in 2019, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has hinted that he is open to reconciliation with his former boss, Olusegun Obasanjo. 2019 election: Go and beg Obasanjo.

This comes after the immediate past President, Goodluck Jonathan, in an interview, described Obasanjo as “the boss of bosses.” He advised Atiku to seek reconciliation with ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo if his dream of becoming President must be realized.

2019 election: Go and beg ObasanjoJonathan further urged Atiku to apologise and beg Obasanjo to secure the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for the 2019 election.

Sources in PDP told a national newspaper that Jonathan said Atiku must beg or apologize to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo to get the 2019 presidential ticket of the PDP on a platter of gold.

Although Obasanjo has quit partisan politics, Jonathan was of the opinion that “he is still a strong factor in shaping the future of the nation in 2019 because he is a force among the revered kingmakers.”

2019 election: Go and beg ObasanjoJonathan had in early November told the publisher of Ovation magazine in an interview that “If Atiku gets our party ticket, he would compete well. But he would have to reach out to our boss, Baba OBJ, the boss of all bosses. We’ve all learnt at different times that you ignore OBJ at your peril. OBJ has the magic wand. He is respected at home and abroad.”

Following this, Atiku’s Media Adviser, Mazi Paul Ibe, speaking on behalf of his principal in Abuja on Sunday, said the former Vice President, who he described as a master of consensus building, would not discountenance the importance of carrying everyone along.

Ibe said, “His Excellency, former Vice -President Atiku Abubakar, is a savvy politician and he will not discountenance the importance of carrying everybody along in order to build a consensus.”
