Gov Fayose tells FG to increase corps members’ alawee

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state has called on the Federal Government, FG, to increase the monthly allowance of National Youth Service Corps, NYSC members in the country. He is of the opinion that corps members should be placed on a monthly allowance of N50,000 instead of their current allowance which is N19,800. The governor also urged the corps members to see themselves as leaders of tomorrow. Gov Fayose tells FG to increase corps members’ alawee.

Governor Fayose made the appeal in Ise Ekiti during the closing ceremony of the orientation course of the 2017 batch “A” stream 2, and according to him, his reasons for the appeal in the allowance is to enable them (corps members) support themselves.

“Nigerians must collectively join me to mandate the federal government to increase the allowance from N19,800 to N50,000. On our part, the Ekiti government will provide all the necessary support for the Corps members to make their service year memorable in the state,” he added.

In his remark, the National Youth Service Corps State Coordinator, Ukagha Eze, charged the corps members to see themselves as leaders of tomorrow.
